Harley - Ten Months

I'm so excited to celebrate Harley's first Christmas! We've had fun decorating, including a pink Christmas tree in Harley's room. She loves looking at the trees and watching me wrap presents. She's babbling A LOT and she says mama, dada, Abbie (sounds like akkie), Nan (yesterday twice and once today...to Nan!), hi (we think), bye (twice) and lots of other sounds.

She had her first fever this past week. :( The doc said it was viral, not bacterial & we just had to give her tylenol & wait it out. It was so sad to see my baby not feeling well. But we are on day 2 of no fever and she's back to her normal, happy self!

Hope everyone has a
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!

Check out this pic Angela Marino took of Ezra under the Christmas tree. I'll post our Christmas card pics that Ang took soon. And our pictures with Santa aka Dr. Randy, Abbie & Ezra's vet.

Banana Bites

Just made these...got the recipe here. They are so good! We'll see how Harley likes them when she wakes up from her nap. I used 365 Whole Wheat pancake batter (Whole Food's brand) and organic bananas. Here's the recipe:

-----------------------------------
Banana Bites (Makes 2-3 Servings)

2 Bananas
1 Cup Pancake Batter (Your favorite boxed brand OR your weelicious favorite recipe: Whole Wheat Oat Pancakes, Raspberr-Wee Pancakes (minus the raspberries) or even Vegan Pumpkin Pancakes)

Accompaniments: Honey, maple syrup, yogurt or a healthy berry sauce*

1. Cut the bananas into 1/4 inch slices (I like to make slices on a diagonal bias so they’re a little bit longer than circles).
2. One at a time, dip the banana slices into the batter, coating all over, shaking off the excess batter into the bowl and place on a buttered griddle or skillet over medium heat.
3. Cook for 1 minute on each side or until golden.
4. Serve.

*Do not serve with honey for children under 12 months for allergy reasons.
-----------------------------------

I've also made the Potato-Broccoli puree and the Banana/Avocado Mousse (used formula instead of milk)...Harley loved both. Weelicious is a really great blog for baby/toddler recipes!

Fall Notables

Those that are my friends on Facebook know all about Abbie, but I haven't posted about her stay in the hospital here. In a nutshell, she was on some antibiotics that made her really sick and we almost lost her; but the amazing, wonderful, sweet, smart, awesome vets at Auburn saved her lift. Now, Abbie is an Auburn fan, as you can see in the picture below. (However, on Iron Bowl day, she wears her Bama collar.) Harley and I visited Amanda and Ruby a few weeks ago.The girls are so cute together! Photos via Amanda's FB page:

Mary's Birthday celebration was a couple of weeks ago at Village Tavern. A good time was had by all!Linds, April & me
Finally...I'm so excited that Harley gets to wear all of her new Christmas clothes! Here's her adorable Rudolph dress!

Wonderful Weekend

Last weekend included: Thanksgiving on Thursday, the Iron Bowl on Friday, and mine and Bayron's 4th anniversary dinner on Saturday. It was a full, busy weekend and we had a blast!

Thanksgiving was wonderfully chaotic. Good food, good people, good times.

Well, we didn't win the Iron Bowl...this year...but we still had a lot of fun at the game! Roll Tide!!! Here's the gang, minus Josh:We celebrated our 4th Anniversary at Flemings. YUM! Here's a pic beforedinner...love my snazzy new houndstooth dress! (Thanks, Mom!)

Getting into the Christmas Spirit!

I love Shutterfly! I’m totally using them for my Christmas photo cards this year! You can see all of the Christmas cards here:
http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/christmas-photo-cards. Harley is 10 months old now and I cannot wait to send out our Christmas photo cards with her sweet smiling face on them. :)

Here is my new favorite picture of me & Harley:

Of course, we will do our best to get a “family” photo on the card complete with me, Bayron, Abbie, Ezra AND Harley…but that doesn’t always turn out so well! I really cannot believe it’s the holiday season already. This time last year, I was really pregnant and really tired! This year, I have my energy back and I love being a mommy. Bayron and I are so excited to celebrate Harley’s first Christmas! And we are also so excited that Abbie is here to celebrate with us. We almost lost our sweet furry baby last month, but thanks to the WONDERFUL vets at Auburn, she’s doing great!

Here is Abbie loving riding in the car with her nose smelling the autumn air...she hasn't wanted to do this in months!

I LOVE Shutterfly's new holiday collection. This one is ONE of my favs:

Shutterfly also has really cool photo calendars. You can see them here:
http://www.shutterfly.com/calendars. Those make GREAT gifts! Especially for the grandparents! A new picture of their grandchild/grandchildren every month; what could be better?

Another great feature of Shutterfly is their birth announcements. Cute, cute designs can be seen here: http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/birth-announcements. When and if we have another one, I plan on using Shutterfly for the birth announcements. Maybe I’ll get them out a little sooner the next time around!

Harley - Nine Months

Harley was 9 months old on November 3rd. She is hilarious. She makes really funny faces and waits for you to laugh, then she laughs. We're gearing up for her first Christmas! I will post again soon with pics from Thanksgiving, the Iron Bowl, and our 4th Anniversary! :)

Here are the many faces of Harley:

Harley - Eight Months

On October 3rd, Harley turned 8 months! On October 9th, she clearly called me "mama" and Bayron "dada". It was a great moment! She's been saying "dada" but we weren't sure she was actually calling Bayron "dada"...we are now! She looked directly at him and said "dada" and looked directly at me and said "mama". So cool!

She's loving daycare and the teachers say she's a great baby and rarely cries. She's still eating like a champ, although still no teeth! She's (pretty much) mastered getting her baby puffs (like cheerios) in her mouth by herself. She had a blast on the quad last weekend and even got to meet Tyrone Prothro!

She charms everyone everywhere we go. Yesterday, she grinned at anyone that spoke to her at the grocery store. Such a happy baby girl!

The B's

Just wanted to post a few pics of me & my B's from this summer. :) Love these girls!

;) Superimposed Jen on this one:

Harley - Seven Months

I'm a little late on this blog post...Harley will be 8 months next week! She had a great summer and is enjoying her fall so far.

She got to see Liv (Alicia & Jeff's little girl) at Aunt April's run at Mt. Laurel.

She also got to see her friends Grant (Scott & Cyndi's) and Wells (Ward & Ruth's).

She loves cheering for the Tide!

She got to spend some time with Greta, John & Evan and attend her first birthday party...her BFF Ruby's 1st Bday!

I guess the biggest happening in Harley's life is that she started school!

She seems to enjoy seeing the other kids and comes home tired, but happy. She's eating like a champ...carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, peas, green beans, apples, bananas, pears, and her favorite, mangoes!

She is really becoming a great baby...usually in a good mood, only fussy if she's tired or hungry. She's really starting to babble...ba ba ba, ma ma ma, da da da. She still loves to blow bubbles. She's basically sitting up by herself now. Last weekend, she took her first trip to Life is Good to celebrate Pop's bday. She loves seeing her cousin Bryan!

This weekend, we're heading to Ttown for the Alabama/Florida game. She's a great traveler. Speaking of travelling, Bayron and I went to San Fransisco at the end of August. Yokie and Pop stayed with Harley for two nights and SheShe and Granddaddy stayed with her for three. She did great and we had a blast!

I'll try to post her 8 month update sooner! Roll Tide!
